Smoke detection with Jeenode and RFM12b

Added by jeroenb over 1 year ago

Hi,
A few nights ago my smoke detector made is very clear to me that the battery should be replaced. (there was no fire) So my question is. . Are there any smoke detectors available with wireless transmission possibilities that can be hooked up to my jeenode network? . Perhaps detect the battery status, smoke level, siren check etc.

Any ideas?

CO measurement would also be great.

There are some smoke detectors available which can transmit the data by wireless medium.
But they must have the battery backup and the device connected to them also must have the battery backup.
I can't say about the compatibility of smoke detector with the Jeenode network.
Please share some detailed specifications of jeenode network.

I've added a Jeenode to my CO-sensor. I hooked it to the internal 9 volt battery, red/green led (interrupt-trigger) and a point after a opamp to the analog input. This way I can see if the led blinks red/green and get a rough indication of any CO levels, not that I've measured any yet.
The Jeenode V6 fits inside the housing.
