Lower Radio range with JeeSMD as with "regular" SMD?

Added by JCee about 7 years ago

Hello,

I have a Jeenode v6 at my second floor (or third, as the Americans would say), hooked up to a Openther Gateway.
The receiver is downstairs, throug 2 concrete reinforced floors: works perfect!

Now I replaced the Jeenode upstairs with a SMD version, just to try some things. Same sketch etc. When I place my receiver upstairs as well, all is fine. When I replace my receiver downstairs, all is not fine ;(

Is this is know issue?
Anyway, the work-around is easy, but still…

Best regards,

Jeroen

Jeroen, confusing with multiple Jeroens here.
Looks like issue http://forum.jeelabs.net/node/1086

There are several versions of the rfm12b module (flat and canned crystal)

@JCee - currently shipping RFM12BS modules from the JeLabs shop. These are the flat SMD crystal type. What is your actual radio module config?

Hi,

If the alternative is the through-hole, then all my nodes have the SMD version.
Edit: it looks exactly like the one here: http://jeelabs.com/products/jeenode-micro
