(Resolved) Can not upload sketch via carrier board

Added by juewis over 5 years ago

Hello,
i’m trying to assemble a remote home monitoring system.

My first component is a JeenodeSMD mounted to a carrier board.
I have soldered the connectors to the board and to the Jeenode.
Jeenode and carrier board

When the USB-BUB is connected directly to the jeenode the upload works.
not working setup

This setup does not work.

working configuration
The upload fails with an error message.

Are more connections needed?

What else could be wrong?

Thank you for any help.

Can not upload sketch via carrier board - Added by martynj over 5 years ago

juewis, is there a complete path for the reset signal generated by the USB BUB through a capacitor to the RST pin on the JN SMD?

RE: Can not upload sketch via carrier board - Added by juewis over 5 years ago

martynj, i thought that is the capacitor on the carrier board?

RE: Can not upload sketch via carrier board - Added by martynj over 5 years ago

juewis, correct. The cap is clearly visible in the photo, but can you trace a path through to the RST pin?

Hello martynj,
thank you very much for your help.
I connected the RST pin on the jeenode with a wire to the RST pin on the carrier board.

The upload is now working.

Hello,
a final comment from me.
I have also soldered in the headers and pins for SPI/ISP and thus could get rid of the wire connection.
