Does JeeLib support RFM69HCW?

Added by jhbowling over 2 years ago

I am trying to use a pair of RFM69HCW and I'm only getting communication range of about two feet. Here is the output from RF12Demo:

OK 34 67 0 132 11 (-95)

I seem to be having the same issue as described in this thread -> http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=248175.15

Is the RFM69HCW supported?

I don't think anyone has looked at it. Is it a 16 pad radio?

The current jeelib does not support the high power settings. With reference to page 66 on the datasheet you reference, jeelib sets the 0x11 register to 0b10011111, this enables the PA0 section of the radio which is not implemented on the HCW board. Disabling PA0 and enabling PA1 with 0b01011111 fixes this but more than this requires code changes to manipulate the bits when receiving versus sending. As I understand it, all the high power setting have to be handled correctly, first time, to avoid the risk of burning out elements of the receiver.
